Enacts the "NY broadband resiliency, public safety and quality act" to provide for oversight of the resiliency, public safety and quality of broadband and voice over internet protocol service.
Provides that mifepristone or misoprostol may be dispensed without the name and address of the dispenser and patient included on the prescription label.
Prohibits unregulated pregnancy centers from requiring clients, as a condition of service, or making it reasonably appear to be a condition of service, to disclose certain information relating to their medical history, sexual history, relationship to the other parent of the potential baby, or insurance or financial information.
Relates to reimbursement of home care aides; requires the commissioner of health to ensure rate ranges for Medicaid managed care organizations comply with certain reimbursement rates.
Relates to artist preferences in housing; provides that giving occupancy preference to individuals who are involved in artistic activities is not an unlawful discriminatory practice provided that such preference is implemented or authorized by an agency or the state of New York.
Imposes an excise tax on the gross receipts of the sales of firearms, major components of firearms and ammunition; establishes the gun violence prevention and school safety fund.
Allows commuter vans to accept hails from prospective passengers in the street; directs the New York city taxi and limousine commission to submit to the mayor and the speaker of the council and publish on its website a report on an evaluation of the impact, if any, of authorizing commuter vans to accept hails from passengers in the street on the safe and efficient operation of commuter van services.
Provides that beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year, certain graduate students shall be required to pay 25% of all current and future mandatory university fees; provides that in the 2027-2028 academic year and thereafter, no mandatory university fees shall be charged to certain graduate students and adjunct staff, with the exclusion of the graduate student association student activity fee.
Establishes the caregiver coordinating commission to review and evaluate statewide planning, development, and implementation of caregiver support services, including respite care, for informal family caregivers caring for those across the lifespan.
Establishes a pilot program for schools with active aging programs or specializations in place; creates a curriculum team that shall identify areas that are most relevant to persons working with older adults currently, and/or represent emerging and evidenced-based practices and create a suggested syllabus template for an advanced-year practice class in the field of aging; creates the workforce development center for professional development in gerontological/geriatric education.
