Establishes the crimes of benefiting from a labor trafficking venture, benefiting from a sex trafficking venture and aggravated benefiting from a sex trafficking venture; establishes civil action for victims of benefiting from a trafficking venture; revives such actions otherwise barred by the existing statute of limitations, grants trial preference to such actions; directs the chief administrator of the courts to promulgate rules for the timely adjudication of certain revived actions.
Indexes fixed dollar amounts in the statute to inflation, authorizes changes to compensation plans, removes obsolete language, and removes unnecessary filing requirements for certain life insurance and annuity businesses.
Allows a one-year window for application for a disability retirement for members of the New York state and local employees' retirement system or the New York state and local police and fire retirement system who retired from service on or after January 1, 2021 due to heart disease; provides for the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof.
Establishes the crime of interference with emergency first responders; creates a fifteen foot buffer zone around emergency first responders engaged in the performance of their official duties.
Prohibits the disclosure of the home address, personal telephone numbers, personal email addresses or personal social media handles of any active or former New York state, New York city or local municipal emergency first responder, a judge of any court of law of this state, or a New York state, county or municipal prosecutor or the spouse or child thereof; relates to criminal penalties; permits civil action.
Requires the department of state to review filings for fraud; provides that the department of state shall charge no fee for the dissolution or modification of a business corporation created by fraud; provides an administrative procedure to address fraudulent entity filings.
