Establishes the adult care facility voucher demonstration program for persons with dementia, Alzheimer's diagnosis, or other cognitive impairments to provide a sliding-scale subsidy for adult care facility residents who are at risk of losing nursing home care due to depleted resources and to individuals who are not eligible for Medicaid or supplemental security income, but in need of adult day care services.
Establishes the interagency council on kinship care to investigate, evaluate and make recommendations concerning the unique issues of kinship caregivers.
Establishes the caregiver coordinating commission to coordinate statewide planning, development, and implementation of caregiver support services, including respite care, for informal family caregivers caring for those across the lifespan.
Establishes a pilot program for schools with active aging programs or specializations in place; creates a curriculum team that shall identify areas that are most relevant to persons working with older adults currently, and/or represent emerging and evidenced-based practices and create a suggested syllabus template for an advanced-year practice class in the field of aging; creates the workforce development center for professional development in gerontological/geriatric education.
Directs the office of children and family services to conduct a statewide needs assessment to identify any unmet needs, including, but not limited to, housing, mental health access, financial assistance, childcare, and respite care access for kinship caregivers.
Requires employers to provide leave of absence of at least five days for every 12 month period for an employee to use for menopause symptoms; requires the commissioner of labor, in consultation with the commissioner of health, to develop workplace guidance relating to menopause.
Requires employers to provide a leave of absence of at least four hours for every 12 month period for an employee to use for preventative health care measures.
Enacts the "facial identification and transparency in immigration enforcement act"; requires federal immigration enforcement agents to identify themselves as such when conducting enforcement activities.
