An Act to Provide Funding to Area Agencies on Aging for Community-based Services and Programs to Support Older Adults
Transition-to-Success Mentoring Act This bill establishes a transition-to-success mentoring program requiring the Department of Education (ED) to award grants to eligible entities (e.g., local educational agencies) to provide school-based mentoring programs to assist at-risk students in transitioning from middle to high school. ED must also work with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to (1) refer grant recipients to the National Mentoring Resource Center to obtain mentoring resources, and (2) provide grant recipients with information regarding transitional services for eligible students returning from correctional facilities and transition services for students with disabilities.

Enhancing adult care home services by providing for adult care home workforce development through scholarships for part-time nursing students and setting minimum education levels for instructors at nursing schools, establishing an intergenerational child care program to enhance the adult care home environment by supporting adult care homes offering child care services through the awarding of grants by the secretary of health and environment and creating the intergenerational child care fund and authorizing the secretary to administer the fund.
Directs the state office for the aging to establish a grant program for the provision of home-delivered meals to eligible homebound individuals on weekends and state-recognized holidays by eligible entities; requires a report; makes an appropriation therefore.
