Establishes the crime of interference with emergency first responders; creates a fifteen foot buffer zone around emergency first responders engaged in the performance of their official duties.
Prohibits the disclosure of the home address, personal telephone numbers, personal email addresses or personal social media handles of any active or former New York state, New York city or local municipal emergency first responder, a judge of any court of law of this state, or a New York state, county or municipal prosecutor or the spouse or child thereof; relates to criminal penalties; permits civil action.
Provides as an alternative retirement option from the current option, that any member employed as an emergency medical technician, critical care technician, advanced emergency medical technician, paramedic or supervisor of such titles upon an election by a participating fire district, not including those in a city with a population of one million or more, shall be eligible to retire.
Amends the definition of motor vehicle to exclude personal delivery devices; requires personal delivery device operators demonstrate an adequate safety record and proof of insurance; subjects personal delivery devices to traffic rules and laws applicable to pedestrians; sets speed limits; requires such devices to obey all traffic and pedestrian control devices, and set minimum equipment standards.
Authorizes local governments to provide a real property tax exemption on real property owned by certain volunteer auxiliary police officers in Suffolk county.
Provides for the removal and other disciplinary action of part-time teaching assistants; provides for the procedure of such actions; authorizes suspension pending the determination of charges.
