SENATE RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIVES OF RHONDA DORGAN, AIDAN DORGAN AND GERALD DORGAN, COMMENDING THE HEROISM OF FIRST RESPONDERS AND CITIZENS, AND EXPRESSING THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE RHODE ISLAND SENATE FOLLOWING THE TRAGIC EVENTS AT THE DENNIS M. LYNCH ARENA IN THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET
Amends the definition of "domestic violence" to include the coercive control of another resulting in a pattern of behavior that in purpose or effect unreasonably interferes with another person's free will or personal liberty.
Recognizes the Seaconke Wampanoag tribe as a Native American Indian tribe for the limited purpose of assisting this tribe in establishing eligibility for federal benefits and privileges.
Provides that fees for costs charged for search, retrieval or copying of public records shall be waived for members of the general assembly who certify that they are acting in their official capacity.
Defines squatter as a person occupying a dwelling unit who is not authorized by the property owner, landlord or tenant to occupy the unit and provides remedies for property owner including police assistance to remove a squatter.

SENATE RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING FEBRUARY 10TH, 2026, AS "211 DAY" IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND HONORING UNITED WAY 211 FOR ITS SERVICE TO RHODE ISLANDERS
Establishes the E-Verify compliance program which would require all non-governmental employers within the state with 3 or more employees to apply to participate in the federal E-Verify program and to agree to participate in the program, if accepted.
Increases the penalties for reckless driving from a misdemeanor first offense to a felony, with a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of between one thousand dollars ($1,000) and five thousand dollars ($5,000).
Amends the section of law relative to violations for driving after denial, revocation or suspension of a license and expands the list of offenses for which an unlicensed motorist would be in violation.
