Rural Broadband Window of Opportunity ActThis bill requires the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to prioritize the processing of applications for certain rural broadband expansion projects that are located in areas with the shortest construction seasons (e.g., areas with long winters and heavy snowfall).Specifically, the FCC must prioritize processing such applications for the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) Phase II auction, which aims to facilitate the provision of broadband service to areas that are partially served. (The RDOF program's first phase, which is focused on broadband service for wholly unserved areas, is underway.)
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the goal of education in schools across America shall be that virtually every student in the United States achieves grade-level reading proficiency, providing them with the foundation to develop the skills and knowledge needed for success in school, work, and life.
Panama Canal Repurchase Act of 2025This bill authorizes the President to negotiate with the appropriate Panamanian government officials to reacquire the Panama Canal. The President must submit a report to Congress within 180 days of enactment detailing the progress of such negotiations, potential challenges, and anticipated outcomes.
