Establishes the child victims act fund which provides grant awards in reimbursement to public school districts and voluntary foster care agencies located within the state who have been named as defendants in certain child sexual abuse legal cases and in which it can be demonstrated by the public school district or voluntary foster care agency that no insurance policy for the covered period can be located after a good-faith effort to do so has been made, there was a monetary judgment issued or settlement agreement with regard to such action and where it can be demonstrated by the public school district or voluntary foster care agency that payment in full of such judgment or settlement would put a substantial burden on the district's or agency's ability to execute its mission and negatively impact its existing student population.
Prohibits accessing or distributing certain sexually explicit depictions of children; prohibits consent to such depictions by anyone under eighteen years of age; makes such crimes eligible for bail; includes certain crimes as sex offenses.
Ensures repeat offenders qualify for bail and pre-trial detention when the principal has been convicted of one or more misdemeanor or felony offenses within the immediate preceding five years.
Requires that a claimant alleging that the contents of a website or mobile application that describes goods and services provided at a place of public accommodation constitutes an unlawful discriminatory practice against visually and hearing impaired individuals serve written notice on the owner and provide 60 days to cure the alleged violation prior to commencing an action.
Relates to the creation of a department of corrections and community supervision identification form; relates to the use of such form as proof of identity for individuals applying for a non-driver identification card or certain driver's licenses.
Decreases the setback requirement in the Peconic and Gardiner's Bays for the Suffolk County Lease Program and Sugar Kelp production from 1,000 feet to 500 feet.
Authorizes the town board of the town of Southold, county of Suffolk, to accept from GKLF, LLC, grantee, an application for a refund from the town real estate transfer tax paid pursuant to section 1449-bb of the tax law for certain real property conveyed on June 22, 2021.
Relates to the definition of the metropolitan commuter transportation district for the purposes of the metropolitan commuter transportation mobility tax; requires the metropolitan transportation authority to renegotiate the joint service operating agreement with the state of Connecticut.
Provides that the failure of a party challenging a building permit, variance, subdivision or other land use approval to seek a preliminary injunction to prevent construction shall not give rise to the opposing party raising the defense of mootness if such party continues and/or completes construction with knowledge that an action challenging its land use approval has been timely commenced.
Provides that where a person who meets the requirements for an enhanced exemption for property owned by senior citizens purchases real property after the levy of taxes, such person may file an application for exemption to the assessor within thirty days of the transfer of title to such person for such exemption.
