Establishes New York state renewable electric generation pilot programs to authorize the development of up to three hundred megawatts of renewable electric capacity statewide, in order to stimulate the growth of clean, affordable and reliable sources of energy and to foster new partnerships between electric corporations, energy producers and energy customers in this state.
Energy: alternative sources; electricity generated from RICE generators; authorize use of to meet renewable and clean energy standards. Amends secs. 28, 29 & 32 of 2008 PA 295 (MCL 460.1028 et seq.) & adds sec. 34.
Repeals the major renewable energy development program, including the office of renewable energy siting and electric transmission; and amends various provisions of law relating thereto.
Increases the statewide energy storage capacity to six gigawatts by the year 2030, twelve gigawatts of statewide energy storage capacity by 2040, and seventeen gigawatts of statewide energy storage capacity by 2050.
