Relates to fees charged for the issuance of number plates and to requiring a report on the costs of manufacturing such plates; requires the fee for a number plate not to exceed the cost of producing such plate; establishes that no additional fee shall be charged to keep a current number plate due to a design change implemented by the commissioner; requires the commissioner of the department of corrections and community supervision to report on the costs of manufacturing license plates.
An Act Reducing For Veterans And Members Of The Armed Forces The Fee For Certain Specialty Motor Vehicle Number Plates To Not More Than The Cost To Make Such Plates.
Provides that the commissioner of motor vehicles shall waive the payment of fees for license plates if the new plates required are due to a change in plate design.
Provides that the Department of Revenue shall issue only one license plate to most registered motor vehicles, as opposed to the current requirement to issue two plates
