Prohibits public employers from diminishing health insurance benefits provided to Medicare-eligible retirees and their Medicare-eligible dependents or the contributions such employer makes for such health insurance coverage below the level of such benefits or contributions made on behalf of such retirees and dependents by the public employer as of December 31, 2021.
Memorializing Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim May 22, 2026, as Maritime Day in the State of New York, in conjunction with the observance of National Maritime Day
Establishes the crimes of benefiting from a labor trafficking venture, benefiting from a sex trafficking venture and aggravated benefiting from a sex trafficking venture; establishes civil action for victims of benefiting from a trafficking venture; revives such actions otherwise barred by the existing statute of limitations, grants trial preference to such actions; directs the chief administrator of the courts to promulgate rules for the timely adjudication of certain revived actions.
Clarifies provisions governing when foreclosure actions are deemed abandoned for failure of a plaintiff to timely seek a default judgment; governs when foreclosure actions are deemed terminated for purposes of the savings clause permitting actions to be recommenced following termination of a prior action and be deemed timely; governs the finality of dismissed or discontinued residential foreclosure actions.
Allows a party asserting a claim to discontinue an action without procedural delays when the discontinuance would benefit an unrepresented party and that party has not responded to a request to stipulate to a discontinuance in a reasonable period of time.
