Relates to protecting witnesses in criminal prosecutions from intimidation and threats by permitting the court to withhold disclosure of names and other information if the court finds on the record that such witness is subject to potential intimidation, violence or threats.
Relates to the right to unemployment benefits based on employment with certain educational institutions, including the state university of New York, the city university of New York and public community colleges; clarifies the meaning of certain terms relating to such rights to unemployment benefits.
Eliminates bail for all offenses; provides for imposition of restrictions and conditions and remand for certain offenses; directs consideration of a defendant's character, reputation, habits, mental condition, activities and history, and whether they pose a danger to themselves, another person or the community, when determining a securing order; creates the commission on public safety reform to issue a determination on which offenses should be eligible for pretrial detention.
Phases out certain reimbursements for expenditures made by or on behalf of social services districts for medical assistance for needy persons, beginning with a 10% reduction for 2025, and ending with a 100% reduction for 2034, and remaining eliminated for each year thereafter.
Establishes the professional practice of community midwifery; defines as the management in the home, birth center, or community setting, of normal pregnancies, child birth, and postpartum care, including newborn evaluation, resuscitation and referral for infants; sets requirements for license and practice.
Authorizes occupational therapy services to be provided in school to students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve with occupational impairments of a severity that does not adversely affect the student's educational performance but does present a barrier to functioning at home or in the community; directs the commissioner to promulgate rules and regulations for the provision of such occupational therapy services.
Provides that at the request of an owner of a parcel of property within the boundaries of such sewer district requests exclusion from the sewer district due to the lack of sewage services provided to such parcel of property, such request shall be granted without the state department of health approval and without the procedure set forth in section 256 of the county law.
