Establishes the class A misdemeanor of unlawful procurement of a firearm, for the purchase or acquisition of more than 1 firearm during any period of 30 days.
Requires that the district attorney in each county appoint at least one assistant district attorney to be responsible for overseeing the prosecution of animal crimes.
Requires the reporting of sentences of certain medical professionals to the office of professional medical conduct within twenty-four hours; requires the department of health to disseminate a criminal conviction and sentence of a physician within forty-eight hours of receipt.
Amends procedures required for the custodial interrogation of children to provide additional protections and for taking juveniles and sixteen and seventeen year olds into custody.
Relates to false or misleading advertisements of food and food products; provides factors to determine whether an advertisement is false or misleading; provides for enforcement and a private right of action.
Relates to the use of funds and payments from the IOLA fund; provides that funds and payments shall not be used for any other purpose other than as stated in section 97-v of the state finance law.
