Prohibits an individual or entity that performs services, work, or repairs from performing the services, work, or repairs relating to any insurance claim for which a public adjuster represents the insured or has negotiated or effected a settlement where such public adjuster has a financial or ownership interest in such individual or entity that performs the services, work, or repairs; requires public adjusters to make certain disclosures.
Allows domestic insurers to make certain records available by electronic means if they are easily accessible from the insurer's principal office in this state and the insurer complies with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Enacts "Cariol's Law"; provides for a duty to intervene when a police officer or peace officer observes another police officer or peace officer using physical force that such officer reasonably believes to be clearly excessive or beyond that which is objectively reasonable under the circumstances.
Requires documents utilized by state agencies, public authorities and municipalities to replace the term "emotionally disturbed person" with the term "person experiencing an emotional crisis".
Directs the New York state bridge authority to provide a report by July 1, 2027, outlining their efforts and progress on decreasing and deterring suicide attempts on authority bridges.
Requires public corporations and agencies to provide written notice to each minority- or women-owned business enterprise that unsuccessfully bid on a contract of the reason or reasons why the business enterprise was unsuccessful in obtaining the contract.
Prohibits the establishment of new charter schools, or the revision of any charter in, or within a five mile radius of, the Hempstead union free school district, the Uniondale union free school district, or the Roosevelt union free school district.
Enacts the "COVID-19 injured workers' protection act"; establishes a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) presumption for public employee death benefits where a member was required to physically report to work; did in fact physically report to work as of March first, two thousand twenty; contracted COVID-19; and where the applicable head of the member's retirement system or such system's medical board determines COVID-19 to have been a significant contributing factor in the member's death.
Provides that an applicant with a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering technology and an applicant with a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering shall have the same number of education and experience credit requirements, shall have the same eligibility for an identification card as "an engineer in training", as well as examination and examination eligibility requirements.
Requires every general hospital to report within seven days to the US consumer product safety commission with any report of any examination or inquiry prepared with respect to any death or serious injury occurring to a child determined to be caused by either a children's product or a durable juvenile product.
