Lowers the age of eligibility from 21 to 18 for a class A license or for a commercial driver's license which contains an H or an X endorsement or which is valid for operation in interstate commerce.
Authorizes the issuance of distinctive legion of valor license plates for individuals who have received the army medal of honor, navy medal of honor, air force medal of honor, army distinguished service cross, navy cross, coast guard cross, or air force cross.
Relates to tuition scholarship award programs for certain resident and non-resident medical students attending approved medical programs on a full-time basis.
Provides a filing extension for the "enhanced" STAR exemption to initial applicants provided that such applicants have not been granted such extension before and such applicants are otherwise entitled to the exemption.
Relates to the burden of proof for appeal procedures for children with handicapping conditions; shifts the burden to the parent or person in parental relationship.
Provides a tax credit for certain durable medical equipment equal to fifty percent of the cost to purchase and install durable medical equipment in a residence.
Authorizes the state board of parole to require a violent felony offender to serve their maximum term, if, by clear and convincing evidence, release would pose an imminent threat to society; authorizes the withholding of good behavior allowances of violent felony offenders by the state board of parole upon such a finding.
