Public employees and officers: compensation and benefits; public safety officers benefit act; modify definition of public safety officer to include certain medical examiners and part-time firefighters. Amends sec. 2 of 2004 PA 46 (MCL 28.632).
Recreation: athletics and sports; determining classification of athletic events based on the biological sex of the participant assigned at birth; allow. Amends the state constitution by adding sec. 29 to art. l.
Worker's compensation: benefits; presumption of certain injuries and coverage under the Christopher R. Slezak first responder presumed coverage fund; modify to include certain medical examiners. Amends sec. 405 of 1969 PA 317 (MCL 418.405).
Labor: youth employment; youth employment in residential building construction; allow under certain conditions. Amends sec. 19 of 1978 PA 90 (MCL 409.119).
Elections: registration; proof of United States citizenship when registering to vote and identification when voting; require. Amends secs. 493a, 493b, 495, 509gg & 509ii of 1954 PA 116 (MCL 168.493a et seq.) & adds sec. 496c.
Children: foster care; department to use or conserve benefits for children in foster care in the best interests of the children in foster care; provide. Amends 1994 PA 203 (MCL 722.951 - 722.960) by adding sec. 8f.
Local government: financing; investment of surplus funds of political subdivisions; modify. Amends secs. 1, 5, 7 & 7a of 1943 PA 20 (MCL 129.91 et seq.).
Legislature: other; authority to suspend part or all of the salary and expense allowance of a member who acts unethically or is excessively absent from regular session; provide for. Amends secs. 12 & 16, art. IV of the state constitution.
