Provides for the employment of school nurses for the inspection of pupils attending certain public schools; relates to school districts and boards of cooperative educational services.
Authorizes the application of topical fluoride varnish to a child's teeth by a parent or legal guardian provided that such application is done under the direction and supervision of a licensed practitioner.
Provides that gas, electric, or combination gas and electric corporations shall not be permitted to retain revenues derived from their actual return on equity in excess of authorized rates of return on equity.
Relates to program eligibility for plans comparable to Medicare part D; provides for analysis of health plans by the department of health to determine whether such health plans meet or exceed the Medicare part D standard; requires the department of health, in consultation with the department of financial services, to notify prescription drug insurers of the provisions of this act.
Authorizes up to two percent of mobile sports tax revenue, but not more than twenty-three million dollars, be used for youth team sports funding to be distributed by county youth bureaus, city of New York's department of youth and community development, and an organization which supports and invests in programs that use sports as a vehicle for youth development and social change.
Expands the scope of duties for public employers to prevent workplace violence including additional training, the creation of incident logs, expanding inspections and providing the commissioner the ability to enforce such provisions to prevent workplace violence.
Authorizes certified school psychologists to participate in the certification of certain persons as intellectually disabled or developmentally disabled; makes technical corrections to language.
