Mourning the death of the Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson and honoring his lifetime of service, leadership, and advocacy for civil rights and social justice
Directs the department of taxation and finance to include an opportunity on certain personal income tax forms for individuals to provide written consent to be added to the donate life registry; makes related provisions.
Permits an eligible retirement system member to receive, in lieu of an ordinary death benefit, a death benefit such member would otherwise be entitled to receive provided such member is a state-paid judge or justice of the unified court system or a housing judge of the civil court of the city of New York.
Relates to enacting the central air conditioner and heat pump rights act; provides that a homeowners' association may not adopt or enforce any rules or regulations that would effectively prohibit, or impose unreasonable limitations on, the installation or use of a central air conditioner or heat pump.
Enacts the "deed protection act" in relation to prohibiting a mortgage banker or mortgage loan servicer from commencing, maintaining, or proceeding with a foreclosure action on a mortgage loan where such mortgage banker or mortgage loan servicer knows or has reason to know that the mortgage securing such loan is dependent on a deed, conveyance, or other instrument affecting title to residential real property that was procured by fraud, forgery, or other unlawful means.
Excludes violations occurring within one hundred feet from a place of worship, funeral home, or similar institution from bus operation-related traffic regulations as part of participation in a ceremony or religious service.
Directs the president of the state civil service commission to conduct a study on job vacancies across state agencies and determine which, if any, state agencies are understaffed.
Relates to establishing the empire state public bank to use the state's depository assets to generate additional benefit for the people and the economy of the state.
