An Act To Require Children Who Are Younger Than 18 Years Old To Take The Act Assessment Prior To Dropping Out Of School; To Provide That If The Child Cannot Attain A Certain Act Score They Shall Be Included In The Compulsory School Attendance Law Until They Reach 18 Years Of Age; To Provide Penalties For The Parents Of Children Who Are Required To Attend School Until Reaching 18 Years Of Age And Miss A Certain Number Of Consecutive Days; To Amend Section 37-13-91, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity Thereto; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 27-51-41, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Exempt From Ad Valorem Taxation One Motor Vehicle Owned By The Unremarried Surviving Spouse Of A Person Who Was A Law Enforcement Officer Or Other Law Enforcement Employee Who Died While Engaged In The Performance Of His Or Her Official Duties Or Was Wounded Or Otherwise Received Intentional Or Accidental Bodily Injury While Engaged In The Performance Of His Or Her Official Duties And Later Died As A Result Of Such Wounds Or Injury; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 41-77-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Delete The Requirement For Birthing Centers To Obtain A Written Transfer Agreement With A Hospital That Has An Organized Obstetrical Service And Provides Such Service On A Continuing Basis, Stating That The Hospital Agrees To Accept From The Birthing Center Such Cases As May Need To Be Referred From The Birthing Center; To Require Licensed Birthing Centers To Establish A Written Transfer Plan That Involves Appropriate Levels Of Care When Client Conditions Require It, And To Periodically Provide A Local Hospital With Written Notice Of Its Operations And Patient Population Served; To Provide That In Order To Be Licensed, A Birthing Center Must Be In Compliance With The American Association Of Birth Centers's (aabc) Standards For Birth Centers, Including Establishing A Written Transfer Plan; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Provide An Income Tax Credit For A Percentage Of The Cost Of Installing New Alternative Fueling Infrastructure For Certain Alternative Fuels; To Provide An Income Tax Credit For A Percentage Of The Cost Of Installing A Residential Compressed Natural Gas Fueling System; To Define Certain Terms Used In This Act; To Prescribe The Maximum Amount Of The One-time Credit, Based On The Type Of Qualified Clean-burning Motor Vehicle Fuel Property, Which May Be Claimed In A Taxable Year; To Provide That Any Unused Portion Of The Credit May Be Carried Forward For The Succeeding Five Tax Years; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 27-65-75, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That A Portion Of The State Sales Tax Revenue Collected From Business Activities Within A County That Occur Outside Of The Municipalities In A County Shall Be Paid To The County; To Provide That Such Monies Paid To A County Shall Be Used For Repair, Maintenance And Reconstruction Of Roads, Streets And Bridges; To Amend Section 27-65-53, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity Thereto; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Sections 99-19-81 And 99-19-83, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Under The Habitual Offender Sentencing Law Any Conviction For A Drug Offense Or A Nonviolent Crime Shall Not Be Utilized In Computing Whether A Person Has Two Prior Convictions; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Require Local School Boards To Develop And Public Schools Located Within The School District To Implement Age-appropriate And Developmentally-appropriate Policies Relating To Student Cell Phone Possession And Use On School Property During The Academic School Day From Bell-to-bell; To Specify The Minimum Provisions To Be Contained In Each School Cell Phone-free Education Policy Applicable To Elementary, Middle And High School Students; To Prescribe Exceptions To Possession; To Prohibit Students From Being Suspended Or Expelled As A Consequence Of Any Violation Of Such Policies; To Require School Districts To Establish Procedures For Off-site Events; To Require School Boards To Make Its Policy Publicly Available And Posted Prominently On The School District's Website; To Require School Boards, When Designing Its Cell Phone-free Education Policy, To Incorporate School-based Emergency Best Practices In Its Comprehensive School Safety Plan; To Provide For The Construction Of This Act; To Amend Sections 37-11-55 And 37-11-57, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity To The Preceding Provisions Regarding The Prohibition On Suspending Or Expelling Students For Being In Violation Of The Cell Phone Possession Policy; And For Related Purposes.
